Deja Vu on 7-Eleven Opening Date

The opening date of the new 7-Eleven located at the corner of Highland Avenue and Route 130 has been pushed back a fourth time.

The new date given from a spokesperson for 7-Eleven Inc. is nearly two months after the store was initially set to open.

According to Margaret Chabris, the new opening date is Dec. 13.

Chabris said construction issues were still being worked out but just this week—on Dec. 5—the store was turned over to operations. That means employees will be stocking shelves and prepping the store for opening day.

It seems like Dec. 13 could stick, but Chabris said that dates can still change. The original date was Oct. 24. That was pushed to Nov. 14 then again pushed to last week—Nov. 30.

The store is owned by Lehigh Gas Corporation, a group based in Bethlehem, PA. It holds partnerships with several gas station companies including Mobil, Hess and Gulf. 

The new 7-Eleven will not feature a gas station, however.

The store is around 3,000 square feet and will hold 18 parking spots. The 7-Eleven at the Route 130 and Riverton Road jug handle will remain open.
