Drunk Driving Accidents, Arrests Down In South Jersey Town That Offers Rides For Residents Who Drink Too Much

Among residents of Evesham Township, drunk driving arrests are down 50 percent.

Drunk driving accidents and arrests are down in Evesham Township a year after that town introduced a free service that gives rides to people who drink too much at bars and restaurants.

Since it’s inception last September, the Evesham Saving Lives program has given over 2,000 rides home for Evesham and Voorhees residents, according to statement on Evesham’s Facebook page.

In Evesham, there has been a 16 percent decrease in overall DWI/DUI automobile accidents, and a 15 percent decrease in DUI/DWI arrests.
