WESTHAMPTON, NJ — Merrill Reese, the "Voice of the Philadelphia Eagles" is now also the voice for Burlington County's Animal Shelter, according to a press release.

The longtime play-by-play announcer recorded a public service announcement encouraging listeners to consider providing one of the dogs, cats and other animals within the shelter "with a loving forever home."

The recording was made in time for National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day, which is held every April 30, according to Burlington County Commissioner Felicia Hopson.

"The pets at the shelter receive a tremendous amount of love and attention from our shelter staff and volunteers, but we all want what’s best for them, and that’s to find loving forever homes," she said in the release.

The Burlington County Animal Shelter is taking $25 off all adoption fees in April, Hopson continued. For instance, adult dog adoptions that usually cost $75 are lowered to $50 until April 30.
