CHESTERFIELD, NJ — A collision sent two vehicles into a New Jersey highway median and killed a Massachusetts resident early Sunday morning in Burlington County, officials said. The crash occurred at about 2:30 a.m. on the New Jersey Turnpike's south side. State Police identified the decedent as Maria Irgui, 75, of Attleboro, Massachusetts. On the turnpike's inner roadway, a Ford passenger car hit the back of a Nissan passenger vehicle, officials said. The impact sent both vehicles into the center median, according to State Tpr. Troy McNair. Irgui was a passenger in the Ford, police said. Both drivers also sustained minor injuries, according to McNair. The crash remains under investigation.
