Eleanor Rush Music Makers Make Semifinals of MORE FM Choir Contest Wednesday
Voting takes place between 7:15 a.m. and 9 p.m.

The Eleanor Rush Intermediate School Music Makers will attempt to stake their claim as best in the region on Wednesday.
The after school choir’s song, This Christmas, will compete against two other songs in the MORE FM 101.1 Christmas Choir Contest for grades K-8 on Wednesday. Voting opens at 7:15 a.m. and closes at 9 p.m. at choir.morefmphilly.com.
Winners will be announced on the air Thursday morning, around 7 a.m.

Eleanor Rush is one of nine total schools competing in Division 1, with voting taking place over the course of four days.
Three choirs are considered each of the first three days. The contest began on Monday. The winners from each of the first three days advance to the final on Thursday.

The winning choir in each division will receive a $5,000 prize, the opportunity to perform onstage with the Philly POPS on Dec. 10, and will be featured on NBC 10.
Second place will receive a cash award of $2,000 and third place will earn a cash prize of $1,000.
All semifinalists will be featured in a video package that will be packaged by NBC10 and also placed on More FM’s Comcast Video on Demand Channel.
Eleanor Rush will compete against choirs from The Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and the Burlington Township Middle School at Springside for a shot at advancing to the final.
The choir won the 101.1 Christmas Choir Contest in 2010 and the 101.5 contest in 2011. They were semifinalists in both contests in 2012.
This year’s choir consists of 50 fourth graders and 50 fifth graders, split up into two groups.
The fifth graders are participating in the contest.
