CINNAMINSON, NJ — Here's a look at some upcoming events at the Cinnaminson Library for the week of Feb. 24-29, 2020. Each event's description comes from the library's website. Click the name of each event for more information.
Monday, Feb. 24
The Open Book Club, 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.: This month, we will be discussing Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup by John Carreyrou. The Book Group meets in the Cinnaminson Branch Library meeting room the last Monday of every month, 2:00 P.M.-3:00 P.M., unless otherwise noted. New members are always welcome.
The Mug Life Book Club, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Teens and Young Adults are invited to meet up with library staff at the new Starbucks in Cinnaminson for a new book club, The Mug Life. No purchase is necessary. Bring your friends and ideas of where you would like to see this book club go in the future. Best for ages 13 and up. This month's books are Saga (vol. 1) by Vaughan and This Was Our Pact by Andrews.

Tuesday, Feb. 25
Tai Chi, 10:30 a.m. to noon: This is a beginner’s course in Qigong and Tai Chi, slow, gentle forms of exercise that help increase energy, flexibility, balance and body awareness. Those who suffer from bad posture, stiff joints, tension and instability should find the course especially helpful. No special equipment or attire required other than loose-fitting clothing and soft, flat-bottom shoes. This program is for adults only.
Kids Cook Camp: Dipped Oreo Polar Bear Cookies, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Join us each month to learn simple, no-oven-needed recipes you can make at home. Today we'll make delicious polar bear cookies dipped in chocolate. Nutritional information will be made available, please inform instructor of any food allergies prior to class. Please register each child individually. Class size is limited.

Wednesday, Feb. 26
It's The Mail! Storytime, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Join us for stories, songs, games, and a simple craft about the mail! Registration is not required.
Scrabble Club, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Do you love a good game of Scrabble? Look no further. You have found kindred spirits with the new Scrabble Club forming at the Cinnaminson Library. Players of all levels and all ages are welcome to drop in, and we hope, stick around. It's stimulating, educational and most of all, lots of fun!
IPhone and IPad Workshop, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.: Learn how to use your IPhone or IPad in this fun, informal workshop. Bring the following to the Cinnaminson Library:
- your fully charged IPhone or IPad
- your Apple (ITunes) user name and password (write them down)
- your questions
- paper and pen to take notes (until you fall in love with your notes app)
This is a no judgment zone!
Thursday, Feb. 27
Writers' Critique Group, 6 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.: Have you always wanted to write and sell a book? Have you started or finished your first draft? Bring along your work-in-progress for a helpful and inspiring group critique.
Friday, Feb. 28
Toddler Dance Party, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Rock out for 30 minutes of guided dancing fun in this high energy, fun program. Wear comfy clothes and be ready to have some fun! Registration not required.
Saturday, Feb. 29
Chess Club, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: For chess players of all levels. Beginners are both welcomed and encouraged! We can teach the rules of the game to those who wish to learn. Chess is an excellent way to keep your mind sharp and have fun while doing so. We will provide the boards but feel free to bring your own if you want.
Talk Up a Storm: ESL Conversation Group, 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.: Want to practice your English with other non-native speakers? Want to improve your vocabulary, grammar and speech in a safe and supportive environment? Join ESL facilitator, Kathy Orey, twice a month for conversation practice covering topics such as food, shopping, health, customs, holidays, and fun things to do. Important to know: Kathy Orey is the facilitator and will lead the group in activities.
