CINNAMINSON, NJ — Here's a look at some upcoming events at the Cinnaminson Library for the week of Nov. 12-16. Each event's description comes from the library's website. Click the name of each event for more information.

Tuesday, Nov. 12
Tai Chi, 10:30 a.m. to noon: This is a beginner’s course in Qigong and Tai Chi, slow, gentle forms of exercise that help increase energy, flexibility, balance and body awareness. Those who suffer from bad posture, stiff joints, tension and instability should find the course especially helpful. No special equipment or attire required other than loose-fitting clothing and soft, flat-bottom shoes. This program is for adults only.

Cursive Class, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Have you ever wanted to sign your name in a fancy script? Read older documents (like the Declaration of Independence)? Write messages to your friends that other people can't read? It's time to learn cursive writing! Come in and learn cursive lettering and practice in fun ways at the library with Miss Kristie. Best for ages 7 and up.

TEEN Cook Camp: Latkes, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Join us each month to learn simple, no-oven-needed recipies you can make at home. This month, learn how to make savory potato latkes just in time for the holidays. Nutritional information will be made available, please inform instructor of any food allergies prior to class. For ages 11 to 18. This program requires registration to allow us to estimate needed supplies.

FAFSA Workshop, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.: HESAA will present a workshop providing an overview on the importance of FAFSA completion and addresses the questions of who, why, and how? HESAA will hand out materials and discuss the FAFSA process. Registration is required. This event is free and open to the public. Both students and their families are welcome. Parents/students should bring the following prior to attending this workshop:

  • FSA ID and password for the student and at least one parent. (Here is a flyer detailing how to obtain an FSA ID and password for those that may not know.)
  • Copy of all 2018 Federal Income Tax Returns and W-2 forms for student (if applicable) and parent(s).
  • Social security numbers for parent and student or if the student is not a U.S. citizen, alien registration number or documentation as U.S. permanent residents or U.S. citizens.
  • Records of balances in checking and savings — for student and parent(s).
  • Marital Status of parent(s) and date of marital status (for example, the date of marriage.) For student and parent(s).
  • Student driver’s license # (if applicable).
  • If you are able, please bring a laptop, tablet or smart phone. Some parts of the class involve browsing internet sites. A limited number of Chromebooks are available for those who do not have these devices.

Wednesday, Nov. 13
World Kindness Day Craft for Adults: Pop into the library any time on November 13th and help us celebrate World Kindness Day by making a "kind" project to take home. All materials supplied by the library. Registration is not required. The adult project will be in the center of the Adult Services room.

World Kindness Day Craft for Kids: Pop into the library any time on November 13th and help us celebrate World Kindness Day by making a "kind' project to take home. All materials supplied by the library. Registration is not required. The project for children will be set up in the back of the Youth Services room.

World Kindness Day Teen Craft: Pop into the library any time on November 13th and help us celebrate World Kindness Day by making a "kind' project to take home. All materials supplied by the library. Registration is not required. The teen project will be in the Teen Zone.

A Very Kind Storytime, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Join us as we celebrate World Kindness Day with a special storytime, songs, movement and more. Registration is not required. For World Kindness Day we are offering a chance to create a unique project to make and take home as well as ideas on how to add more kindness to you every day.

Laughter Yoga, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Laughter Yoga is a whole body, well-being workout that uses intentional laughter, breathing, mindfulness, and gentle movement to promote a healthy, joyful and vibrant life. It's uplifting, energizing and fun! There are no yoga poses involved. The yoga aspect is the deep breathing and mindfulness that we include. The program is wonderful for friendly connection, stress relief and can also help ease anxiety & mild depression, while also being a form of exercise. We do not use jokes or comedy and you do not need to be flexible or funny. You can even participate in a chair. Please bring water and a willingness to be playful and have fun! Thursday, Nov. 14
Chocolate & Canvas, 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.: We have chocolate! We have canvases! Put them together for a fun afternoon of painting. The library will furnish all the painting supplies you'll need. There is no formal instruction for this class, and no experience is needed. Create an acrylic painting of your own design or use one of our pictures as inspiration.

Friday, Nov. 15
Little Builders, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Come and build at the library! We have several fun STEM kits like Marble Run, Duplos, and more! Registration is not required!

The Writer's Clinic, 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.: If you need help with writing tasks like:

  • Resumes
  • Cover Letters
  • Filling out Forms (except for legal, financial and tax documents)
  • Writing Projects (i.e. toasts, speeches, reports, essays, etc.)
  • College Papers
  • Letters

We can help you! Meet one-on-one with a professional writing instructor and get the job done! This program is for adults only.

Saturday, Nov. 16
Talk Up a Storm: ESL Conversation Group, 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.: Want to practice your English with other non-native speakers? Want to improve your vocabulary, grammar and speech in a safe and supportive environment? Join ESL facilitator, Kathy Orey, twice a month for conversation practice covering topics such as food, shopping, health, customs, holidays, and fun things to do. Important to know: Kathy Orey is the facilitator and will lead the group in activities.
