FBSJ Volunteers Fulfill Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

Nearly 100 volunteers completed a Day of Service at the Food Bank of South Jersey

In honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., nearly 100 volunteers completed a Day of Service at the Food Bank of South Jersey (FBSJ).

Volunteers included representatives from Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. - Omicron Omicron Zeta Chapter, Congregation M’kor Shalom, Ballard Spahr LLP, CMI / Compas and local individuals and families.

During the Day of Service, volunteers sorted eight skids of food, assembled nearly 800 Community Supplemental Food Program Twilight Harvest Boxes and meal prepped and cleaned for the FBSJ’s Health and Wellness programs.

“We were proud to have so many volunteers celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy by participating in our Day of Service,” said Fred C. Wasiak, President and CEO, FBSJ. “Without the help of our volunteers, the Food Bank of South Jersey not be able to serve the more than 200,000 food-insecure residents in our local community.”
