Neighbor News

Finally a Solution to Rid your Beautiful Lawn of Awful Dog Poop and Pee and Silence your neighbor's Barking Dogs...

Family Fun Tomorrow, Sun 8/9, 1-4 Good Ol' Fashion Carwash! Raise Funds for Riverton's Dog Park at HousePaws. Help Wash or Get a Car Washed

I’m all “pooped” out from a very busy couple weeks… so the post below is written with humor but remains factual:

Everyone knows the saying… a tired dog is a good dog, right? Well, it’s not the dog that’s good… it’s the parent who treats the dog well by providing what they need: exercise, stimulation, affection, appropriate nutrition, socialization, guidance and direction, the result is doggie is exhausted. When you have a pet, making time to give them your undivided attention each day is necessary so they feel fulfilled, having spent quality time with you.

Even if you don’t have a dog you’ll want to come to HousePaws Mobile Vet Service today Sunday, Aug 8th for a carwash fundraiser to build a Dog Park in Riverton! There are many benefits to having a dog park in town… but I think these few will be of most interest:

  • Avoid contamination and consequences to the environment as a result of not picking up dog poop.
  • Help decrease incidence of aggressive dogs and potential bites.
  • Have peace and quiet outside your home.

If a dog does not have exposure to people and dogs and is denied the opportunity for appropriate socialization, it’s likely they will become very fearful around other people and dogs. Fear often leads to aggression as a defense mechanism; to lessen the occurrence of dog bites, responsible parenting is essential. Providing exercise, stimulation, affection, guidance, and appropriate socialization are imperative to having a balanced dog. I won’t even address appropriate nutrition in this post, but food is the foundation of life for your pet as it is with humans! : )

Imagine all the dogs who get a quick walk around the block to make a poop and pee ( their owners don’t want to pick it up in their own property) and then they return to a fenced-in area all day longing to play and be loved… so they bark and bark and bark. Annoying, but it’s not their fault… what else should they do??? Some will find a way to escape… and what happens, they poop on your grass still!

Or a doggie who doesn’t have a yard, parents work long hours, do not employ a dog walker, and the poor furry baby barks all day home alone… when mom or dad come home, the dog goes out for a quickie, and since you’re the neighbor, it’s your thick, green grass their pooch poopies on every day! (Both of these scenarios are very sad for doggie!!!!!)

If a dog has a way to burn off the voluminous amount of energy many have, it’s not that they are “good”, they are flat out exhausted! And while home alone, they rest quietly and contently.

Exercise gets the system moving, so most dogs take a quick break and poop during play or right afterwards. They absolutely make lots of pees because they have to share their scent everywhere when around other dogs and their scents. Most parents are responsible and do not leave poopie in a place where their dogs are running around… so the risk of soil becoming contaminated from poop is greatly reduced. Yes, all the info you read about poop contaminating your community with parasites and entering waterways are not made up!

You have the power to put an end to all of the above situations… by bringing a dog park to Riverton: Help the dogs get their exercise and end stepping in the poop and pee on your grass!!!
