So far this year, the Cinnaminson Fire Department has responded to 458 emergency calls for assistance.

On April 16, a rainstorm brought a significant amount of rainfall to the township. The rain, said Fire Chief Bill Kramer, coupled with unusually high tides, resulted in several weather-related emergencies. Kramer said one of the calls included an instance where residents were evacuated via inflatable boat.

Kramer said the fire department would like to remind residents to make sure street addresses are clearly visible on houses. House numbers should be visible from the street, be a contrasting color to the house and be at least 3 inches tall.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer with the Cinnaminson Fire Department, there are programs available for residents age 14 and up. Those interested can visit cinnaminsonfire.org for more information.
