4 Cinnaminson High School Wrestlers Still Alive for Regional Titles

The Region 7 tournament began at Holy Cross Wednesday night.

Four Cinnaminson High School wrestlers continue their quest for a regional title Friday night.

The District 7 tournament began Wednesday night at Holy Cross, with the pre-quarterfinal round. The quarterfinals are set for Friday night, with the semifinals and final scheduled for Saturday.

The wrestleback rounds also take place on Saturday, giving any wrestler who loses in the quarterfinals or the semifinals the opportunity to earn a third-place finish. The top three wrestlers in each weight class advance to the state championships at Atlantic City on March 4-6.

Ryan Teague, the No. 3 seed at 138, advanced to the quarterfinals after he pinned No. 14 Jack Milazzo, of Robbinsville, in one minute, 42 seconds, according to nj.com.

Sixth-seeded Isaiah Elias advanced to the quarterfinals at 113 with an 8-1 win over Northern Burlington’s Devin Lippincott, according to nj.com.

Elias will face Robbinsville’s Logan Fox, the No. 3 seed, on Friday.

Fifth-seeded Shaun Davilla received a bye past the pre-quarterfinal round at 170, and will meet No. 4 Samuel Jordan, of Seneca, in the quarterfinals on Friday, according to nj.com. Jordan advanced with a 16-4 win over No. 13 Berkant Halioglu, of Delran, on Wednesday.

Heavyweight Keith Swartley earned a pre-quarterfinal bye with his unblemished record of 30-0. He will face No. 8 Lorenzo Hernandez, of Cherry Hill West, in the quarterfinals on Friday, according to nj.com. Hernandez advanced with a 6-5 win over No. 9 Antonio Mercado, of Camden, on Wednesday.
