Free Dog Microchipping and Scanning in Palmyra Monday Night
Microchipping is designed to help find pets who get lost and are taken to animal shelters.

I’ve Got the Scoop Professional Pet Care is providing a free event to help residents ensure they can find their dogs in the event they become lost.
The free microchipping and scanning session for dogs only is at 313 East Broad Street, Palmyra, on Monday, June 27, 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. The event is held in memory of Madigan. Attendees are asked not to park in Schwering’s parking lot, which is next to I’ve Got the Scoop.
A microchip is a small glass cylinder that contains a small electronic device that has your pet’s identification number. The identification number can be used by an animal shelter after a lost pet is turned in to help find the pet’s owner.

The microchip is injected into the dog using a needle slightly larger than that used in a typical injection. Animal shelters can identify a chip by scanning dogs that are brought in.
