Free Shredding Event At Rowan College At Burlington County This Weekend
The event is for Burlington County residents only, and identification will be required.

Burlington County residents will have a chance to dispose of their confidential documents at a free shredding event this weekend. The free shredding event takes place on Saturday, Oct. 7, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. rain or shine at Rowan College at Burlington County’s Mount Laurel Campus, county officials announced this week.
“We have seen a tremendous turnout so far this year, with 4,104 residents utilizing our services to recycle 150,608 pounds of confidential documents,” Burlington County Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio said.
Residents are invited to bring confidential documents such as bank and credit card statements, tax returns, papers with account numbers or social security numbers to be shredded on-site. Binders, plastic folders, computer disks and plastic credit cards won’t be accepted at this event.

Up to four bags or boxes per car will be accepted. Already-shredded paper can also be recycled at this event. The event may end before 1 p.m. if shredding trucks reach full capacity, according to Garganio. Dates and locations for additional shredding events will be announced in the coming weeks.
The event is open to residents of Burlington County only, and identification will be required. Items will not be accepted from any businesses. The event is sponsored by Burlington County officials.

“Residents are reminded that they can download Recycle Coach, an innovative mobile app designed to make recycling even easier,” Garganio said. “The app allows users to set personal recycling reminders, confirm whether or not an item can be recycled, or report any problems. Shred event reminders are also included on the free and easy to use app.”
To download the app, visit the iTunes or GooglePlay app store, or visit the desktop friendly version at http://www.co.burlington.nj.us/1602/Recycle-Coach.
