Free Uber Rides From Bars To Continue For South Jersey Residents
The trips take residents from liquor establishments to their homes in two towns as part of a municipal program.

Over 6,000 residents in two South Jersey towns have been driven home safely since the beginning of 2015, according to a post on the Evesham Township Facebook page.
That's due to the Evesham Saving Lives Program, in which Uber provides free rides to residents of Evesham and Voorhees townships from any liquor establishment located within those two townships to their homes. Those who use the service must be a resident of one of those two townships, and have identification.
The program is fully funded by donations from individuals, businesses, and community based civic organizations. The free ride home is available every day of the year, between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m.

When the program launched, it originally used a bus, but Uber became involved about a month in, according to nj.com. Evesham launched the program, and Voorhees joined later on. The program has been extended another two years.
