Future Of Cinnaminson Goodwill Industries Store In Limbo
The township's zoning board was scheduled to vote on some zoning variances on Wednesday, but the vote was postponed.
CINNAMINSON TOWNSHIP – Goodwill Industries’ future in Cinnaminson remained in limbo Friday, after the company asked for and received permission for a continuance on a zoning board vote regarding some of the zoning variances it seeks.
Goodwill Industries made the continuance request after it became known that one of the Cinnaminson Township Zoning Board members was not going to be able to attend the meeting that was scheduled for this past Wednesday, according to township zoning board solicitor Richard Strobel.
“Many applicants who seek variances want assurance that there will be a full board which gives them some greater level of satisfaction that they do not have to get unanimous or near-unanimous support,” Strobel explained.

Goodwill echoed a similar sentiment when contacted by Patch after the meeting.
“Goodwill always wants to go in front of a full board because you have a better chance of achieving your objective for a variance,” Juli Lundberg, the director of corporate communications at Goodwill Industries of Southern New Jersey & Philadelphia told Patch after this past Wednesday’s meeting.

There are several components of Goodwill Industries’ application for building an attended donation center at 915 U.S. Route 130 that would require the zoning board to grant variances, according to the public notice for the meeting.
These variances include Goodwill Industries proposing 11 parking spaces for the site, but current zoning regulations require 19 parking spaces and a sign for Goodwill Industries being set back 7-1/2 feet from the road but current zoning regulations require 15 feet.
The zoning board will hold a special meeting on April 13 to vote on the variances Goodwill Industries seeks.
