Girl, 13, Injured In Delran Apartment Fire: Reports

A fire broke out at an apartment above a family-owned pizzeria in Delran Monday night.

DELRAN, NJ - A 13-year-old girl was reportedly injured in a fire that broke out in an apartment above a pizza shop in Delran Monday night.

The girl was taken to Temple University Hospital, and her condition wasn’t immediately known Tuesday morning, the Burlington County Times reports. Authorities believe the fire began in her bedroom. Another person on the scene refused treatment, according to Fox 29.

County investigators and the fire official continued to investigate Tuesday morning, and a representative from the fire department wasn’t immediately available for comment.

The fire broke out at Milanese Pizza at about 4:36 a.m., according to a Facebook post by the Cinnaminson Fire Department, which responded to the scene.

The occupants were already out of the building by the time firefighters arrived, according to the Courier Post. The firefighters initially went into the building, but when something didn't feel right, they left. Moments later, flames blew through the roof. They had the fire under control by 6:30 a.m.
