Halloween Is A Time For Jailhouse Love In Burlington County

Is your love that of a jailhouse romance? Well, it can be if you want. Burlington County Clerk Joanne Schwartz will perform weddings at the Historic Prison Museum in Mount Holly on Halloween.
Couples can choose to get married on the grand steps of the prison or in their very own jail cell on Thursday, Oct. 31, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, so why not wed on a festive day,” Schwartz said. “Forever more you will be able to celebrate your wedding anniversary on this wonderful fun fall holiday.”

Couples will be asked to make appointments in advance and arrive ahead of time to complete the necessary paperwork.
Schwartz will also perform Holiday Weddings at the Historic Smithville Mansion in Eastampton on Dec. 13, 1p.m. to 7 p.m.

Couples will need to obtain a marriage license from the town in which either of the parties lives. It takes 72 hours to obtain the license.
