Historic Rowan College Graduation Set For Friday
Rowan College at Burlington County's largest class will be the first to experience a virtual graduation.
BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — This year’s commencement ceremony offers a pair of firsts for Rowan College at Burlington County. The largest graduating class in the college’s history will also be the first to participate in a virtual commencement ceremony.
Rowan College at Burlington County will recognize 2,190 graduates, the largest number of graduates in the college’s history, the college announced Monday morning. They will be honored during a virtual commencement ceremony at 1 p.m. on Friday. The virtual ceremony will take place due to the outbreak of coronavirus. On Saturday, Gov. The college will stream a video via Facebook Live that includes messages from Rowan College at Burlington County President Dr. Michael A. Cioce, a faculty member and the class valedictorian.

The celebration will also include a visual listing of every graduate by name and recognition of several award recipients that are typically presented at the end of an academic year. Students will be able to engage in a live chat with one another throughout the event.

The college will also recognize Dress for Success winners through their YouTube channel at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening. The celebration highlights a program aimed to prepare students for the workplace.
Participants receive free professional attire, engage in mock interviews and resume writing workshops, and network with potential employers. The YouTube video will include student remarks, guest speakers and student biographies.
The college previously said all 2020 graduates will be invited back in May 2021 to walk across the commencement stage and participate in the more traditional graduation experience. Read more here: Rowan College At Burlington County To Hold Virtual Graduation
