'Hour of Coding' Comes to Westfield Friends School

The school already has a curriculum focused on coding that runs all year long.

Cinnaminson, NJ -- Westfield Friends School students in kindergarten through eighth grade participated in the “Hour of Code” during Computer Science Education Week from Dec. 7-13.

Westfield Friends teaches computer coding to all students from kindergarten through eighth grade as part of its regular technology curriculum.

During Computer Science Week, students had an opportunity to learn how to code by using programs by code.org, which includes a number of skill-building activities such as Minecraft, Star Wars, and Disney’s Frozen.
Computers are everywhere, but fewer schools teach computer science than 10 years ago, school officials said on Wednesday.
