Hours May Change at Township Parks

Cinnaminson Township Committee meets at 7:30 p.m. this evening for their regular March meeting. The meeting is held at the .
Here are some things you should know ahead of tonight's meeting:
Site plans—An ordinance will be introduced this evening amending parameters of how business owners submit site plans.

Park hours—An ordinance will be introduced this evening to talk about changing park hours. "After dusk or before dawn, no one should be in the park," said Mayor Don Brauckmann, also the director of parks and recreation. The ordinance does allow park hours to be extended if there is an event, such as a summer concert or sporting event. There is also an allowance for early-morning joggers and dog-walkers.
"If the lights are off though, the park is closed," Brauckmann said. "If kids are in the park after hours, unfortunately some are hanging out doing bad things, some are doing good things. It's been a concern with all the to our parks."

Acquisition of Barone's—A public hearing will be held tonight on the township's potential acquisition of Barone's Service Center, which sits on the jughandle of Route 130 and Highland Avenue. (.)
Township committee voted at the last meeting to move forward with acquiring the closed building for about $350,000 using leftover grant money awarded by the DOT for their Route 130 reconfiguration project. Tonight is the second reading and public hearing.
Deputy Mayor Anthony Minniti, who serves as the township's director of economic development, said the building would be knocked down and the median would be grassed over.
Fountain Farms playground project—A contract will be awarded to a company to install and set up ' new playground equipment. .
"The good thing is after this, it's going to happen rather fast," Brauckmann said. "We’re hoping to break ground in the future."
