CINNAMINSON, NJ — Here's a look at some upcoming events at the Cinnaminson Library for the week of Nov. 18-23. Each event's description comes from the library's website. Click the name of each event for more information.

Monday, Nov. 18
After School Fun, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Join us for a new program for kids ages 5 to 10! Each month we will pick a theme and explore it using stories, games, STEM activites and more. This is a "no pressure", just for fun hour of activities geared at developing your child's love of the library and meeting new friends.

Chess Club, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.: For chess players of all levels. Beginners are both welcomed and encouraged! We can teach the rules of the game to those who wish to learn. Chess is an excellent way to keep your mind sharp and have fun while doing so. We will provide the boards but feel free to bring your own if you want.

The Mug Life Book Club, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Meet up with library staff at the new Starbucks in Cinnaminson for our book club, The Mug Life. No purchase is necessary. Update: November's titles are Are You Listening? by Tillie Walden and a webcomic that you can read for free online. Check out Namesake If you are not automatically taken to the cover page, hit the double back arrows to begin the story.

Tuesday, Nov. 19
Tai Chi, 10:30 a.m. to noon: This is a beginner’s course in Qigong and Tai Chi, slow, gentle forms of exercise that help increase energy, flexibility, balance and body awareness. Those who suffer from bad posture, stiff joints, tension and instability should find the course especially helpful. No special equipment or attire required other than loose-fitting clothing and soft, flat-bottom shoes. This program is for adults only.

Senior Medicare Patrol NJ, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Don't be a victim! Learn how to protect yourself against Medicare fraud, waste and abuse and have your Medicare questions answered.

Wednesday, Nov. 20
Baby and Toddler Time, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: It’s time to shake, rattle, and roll! Babies and toddlers are invited to listen to stories, sing songs, and dance along at Baby and Toddler Time.

Scrabble Club, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Do you love a good game of Scrabble? Look no further. You have found kindred spirits with the new Scrabble Club forming at the Cinnaminson Library. Players of all levels and all ages are welcome to drop in, and we hope, stick around. It's stimulating, educational and most of all, lots of fun!

IPhone & IPad Workshop, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.: Learn how to use your IPhone or IPad in this fun, informal workshop. Bring the following to the Cinnaminson Library:

  • your fully charged IPhone or IPad
  • your Apple (ITunes) user name and password (write them down)
  • your questions
  • paper and pen to take notes (until you fall in love with your notes app)

This is a no judgment zone!

Thursday, Nov. 21
Fandom Club, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Join us for the very first meeting of our all-fans, all fandoms club. Whether it's Harry Potter, Marvel, Disney, Doctor Who, LoTR, Thrones, Star Wars or Trek, anime, vampires, witches or whatnot, we welcome you. Each month we'll choose a theme together and watch, debate, share fanfic, craft, or cosplay. All attendants to this month's inaugural meeting will receive a FREE welcome gift bag.

The Writers' Critique Group, 6 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.: Have you always wanted to write and sell a book? Have you started or finished your first draft? Bring along your work-in-progress for a helpful and inspiring group critique.

Friday, Nov. 22
Parachute Play, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Pop into the library for some fun play with the parachute. Dress comfortably for 35 minutes of fun songs and movement! Recommended for ages 5 and under. Registration is not required.

Saturday. Nov. 23
Ice Princess Party, 11 a.m. to noon: Meet the "Ice Princesses"! Join us for stories, songs, and a cool craft in a meet-and-greet event with the Ice Princesses. Feel free to wear costumes and practice your royal poses as the Princesses love to have their picture taken! Registration is not required. There is no fee for this event.

ESL Conversation Group, 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.: Want to practice your English with other non-native speakers? Want to improve your vocabulary, grammar and speech in a safe and supportive environment? Join ESL facilitator, Kathy Orey, twice a month for conversation practice covering topics such as food, shopping, health, customs, holidays, and fun things to do. Important to know: Kathy Orey is the facilitator and will lead the group in activities.
