Inaugural Suicide Awareness Walk In Burlington County Set For Sept. 10

The walk is a celebration of life and a way to honor those who have been lost.

CONTACT of Burlington County and theBurlington County Department of Human Services, Division of Behavioral Health and Traumatic Loss Coalition will host the inaugural suicide awareness and prevention walk on Sunday, Sept. 10, at the Burlington County Human Services Facility, 795 Woodlane Road in Westampton. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the walk will kick-off at 10 a.m. Rain date is Sept. 17.

“This inaugural event is an important step in reaching out to everyone in our Burlington County community with support, education and resources. We walk together to make a difference, to let people know that help is available,” Burlington County Freeholder Linda Hughes said. “This event is also an opportunity for those who face or have faced mental health struggles to support one another and feel the support from our community.

“This walk will be a great opportunity for all involved to celebrate life, and to remember and pay tribute to those we have lost.”
