Inspira Foundation Donates $1M To Coronavirus Response

Inspira Health Foundation and its Board of Trustees are contributing $1 million to the Inspira COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund, the health system announced on Tuesday. The fund was established in response to the community’s request to show gratitude through giving.

It gives Inspira Health the necessary ability to respond rapidly during the evolving new coronavirus pandemic. The funds can support the costs of increasing bed capacity, buying Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), helping employees who face financial hardships and completing infrastructure projects to accommodate the impending surge of patients.

“The Foundation’s mission is to support Inspira in providing the highest quality health care in the communities we serve,” Inspira Health Foundation Board Co-Chair Penny Sager-Rossi said. “During this health crisis, we need to leverage philanthropy more than ever to support our patients and heroic health care professionals.”

“This $1 million contribution will make an immediate impact and serves as a call to action to our community,” Inspira Health Foundation Board Co-Chair Robin Love said. “We have seen a tremendous response to our request for donations of supplies and food, and now need the community to join us in supporting this fund.”

“Especially in this time of uncertainty, we recognize the value of those who support our patients and health care professionals,” Inspira Health President and CEO John DiAngelo said. “We are not concerned with finances as we stay focused on doing what is right for our community, in our community. This contribution by the Foundation gives us more capacity to do what is necessary.”

For every donation made, the Inspira Foundation will hang a Blue Heart with the donor’s first name and last initial in one of the hospitals for health care heroes to see.
