Intoxicated Driver Crashes, Gets Extricated From Pickup Truck In BurlCo: Police

The man crashed into a sign and a tree before his vehicle overturned, authorities said.

MEDFORD, NJ — An intoxicated driver crashed and was extricated from his pickup truck last weekend in Medford, authorities said.

First responders reported to the crash scene at 9:44 p.m. Saturday on Christopher's Mill Road, where John Antuzzi's vehicle had overturned, police said. Antuzzi, who lives on the roadway, was extricated from the vehicle and brought to Cooper Trauma in Camden, according to law enforcement.

Antuzzi, 60, sustained facial injuries, multiple lacerations and additional complaints of pain from the crash, police said.

Investigators found that Antuzzi was traveling east on Christopher's Mill Road. His 2019 Toyota Tacoma then left the roadway, hit a speed-limit sign and a tree, and overturned, landing back on the road, authorities said.

Antuzzi was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and failing to wear a seatbelt. The Medford Township Police Department is investigating the crash.
