Investigation Continues Into Death Of Woman, 6-Year-Old Son In Burlington County

A man discovered the bodies of his wife and son in their home in March. The prosecutor calls solving the case a "priority."

MAPLE SHADE, NJ — The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office is asking for information from the public as it continues to investigate the death of a woman and her six-year-old son who were killed at the Fox Meadows Apartment complex in Maple Shade in March.

“The Burlington County Prosecutor, Mr. Scott Coffina, and his team of investigators from the Major Crimes Unit, along with the Maple Shade Police Department’s Detective Bureau, reached out to the ICC executive committee to inform the community about the Narra homicides that took place at the Fox Meadow apartments in Maple Shade,” Jayesh Parikh told the Indian Cultural Center of South Jersey in a Facebook post on Wednesday. “They have informed us that they are very actively investigating the Narra homicides, along with federal law enforcement agencies, and one of their highest priorities is to solve this case. The investigation is very active at this time and they are seeking our community's help in solving this case. If anyone from our community has any information, the Prosecutor’s Office would like to hear from them. If someone does not feel comfortable with a face-to-face interaction, the information can be provided anonymously at the phone number provided below.”

An Indian man who lives in the apartment complex discovered the bodies of his wife, 38-year-old Sasikala Narra and their son, Anish Narra, just after 9 p.m. on March 23. They had each been stabbed multiple times.
Police previously said that although the family is of Indian descent, the case wasn’t being investigated as a hate crime.

“Prosecutor Mr. Coffina reiterated his commitment on multiple occasions during our meeting that this case is being investigated at the highest priority,” Parikh said in his letter. “He would like to establish and maintain a comfortable and productive relationship with our community. Please help the investigating team solve this homicide. The smallest information or tip can be useful in solving this case. Tip line: Burlington County Central Communications, 609-265-7113.”

“We are grateful for the relationship that has been established between the Prosecutor's Office and the Indian Cultural Center, and appreciate the Center's willingness to help us in seeking the public’s assistance for information that will bring this case to a successful resolution," Coffina said. "I cannot emphasize strongly enough that this investigation remains very active. Members of several law enforcement agencies are working tenaciously to provide justice for Sasikala Narra and her son Anish. I understand the frustration on the part of the victims’ family and others who are deeply saddened and angered by these terrible deeds. We share that sadness and outrage from these heinous killings, and are committed to solving this case. Anyone with information that would assist investigators is urged to contact us immediately.”
