Major Milestone For Cinnaminson-Area Boy Scout Troop Nears

CINNAMINSON AREA, NJ — Cinnaminson-area Boy Scout Troop 9 will celebrate its 75th anniversary in September, a scout spokesperson said.

"The low number of Troop 9 is an indicator of how early it was chartered in New Jersey and how long it has remained active," Jon Janowicz, Anniversary Committee Chairperson, told Patch.

"Bethany Lutheran Church in Palmyra sponsored the troop’s formation in 1947 and has continuously renewed that commitment," he continued.

Also this year, the affiliated Cinnaminson-area Venturing Crew for young adults turns 71 and the local Cub Scout Pack turns 68, according to Janowicz.

Past members of Boy Scout Troop 9 are invited to join the present members for a reunion being held to celebrate these anniversaries on Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Family Center located at 102 Fourth St. in Riverton, he said.

RSVPs for the reunion are due by Aug. 31, he said.
