Man Accused Of Killing Girlfriend To Appear In Court Thursday
He was arrested Sunday night for murdering his girlfriend and stabbing her 20-year-old son.

The pretrial detention hearing for a man accused of murdering his girlfriend and attempting to kill her 20-year-old son is set for Thursday. Raul Quinones, 29, of Camden, is charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree attempted murder in the death of 37-year-old Elaine Jimenez and the stabbing of her son, who was seriously injured and hospitalized.
Before the attack, Jimenez told family members she didn’t want Quinones in her home, the Courier Post reports. She changed her mind after a brief conversation when he showed up at her front door to retrieve some of his things.
Once inside, though, Quinones stabbed Jimenez, who was able to escape the home on foot despite being injured, police said. Quinones then stabbed her 20-year-old son several times before pursuing Jimenez out of the home, police said. He attacked her several times outside the home before leaving on his motorcycle.

She then contacted Camden County Police at about 3 p.m. and told them what happened. When they arrived, they found her suffering from stab wounds in the intersection of 29th Street and Arthur Avenue. She was taken to Cooper University Hospital where she was pronounced deceased at 3:36 p.m. Her son was seriously wounded. He was rushed to a local hospital where he remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Quinones was arrested at his residence on Fountain Avenue late Sunday night by members of the United States Marshals Task Force without incident. He is currently in the Camden County Correctional Facility.
