Man Dies After Motorcycle Hits Tree In Burlington Co.: Police

The man's vehicle veered off the road before he hit a tree and was thrown from his motorcycle, authorities said.

WOODLAND TOWNSHIP, NJ — A man died after his motorcycle hit a tree Thursday in Burlington County, officials said.

Christopher Elk, 46, of Brick, sustained fatal injuries in the crash on Route 73 in Woodland Township, said Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a State Police spokesperson.

State troopers responded to the crash at 6:12 p.m. Thursday in the small, wooded town. Elk was riding a Suzuki east on Route 72 when it veered off the road and hit a tree, Lebron said.

Elk was thrown from the motorcycle as a result of the impact, he said.

The crash remains under investigation.
