Man Fled Wawa With Charity Box Hidden Under Shirt: Police

Evesham Township police are asking for the public's help to identify a man who stole a charity box from a local Wawa earlier this month.

EVESHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ — Police are asking for the public’s help to find a man they say stole a charity box from a local Wawa. The man stole the charity box from the convenience store at 270 Greentree Road on Aug. 22, according to Evesham Township police.

He walked into the store at about 7:11 p.m. and proceeded to the cash register. He placed his shirt over the top of the charity box that was next to the register and removed it. He then fled the store with the box and the donations that were inside.

Residents told Fox 29 they were shocked that someone would steal a charity box. Robin Kratchman was incredulous that someone would steal donations other residents would make to those in need.
