Man Killed When His Car Rear-Ended Truck In Burlington Co.: Police

A Long Island resident was killed in the Jersey Turnpike crash, authorities said.

WESTAMPTON, NJ — A Long Island man died after rear-ending a truck Tuesday night on the Jersey Turnpike in Burlington County, officials said.

Donald Butler, 23, of Wheatley Heights, New York, sustained fatal injuries, according to State Police.

Butler was driving behind a Freightliner tractor-trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike North in Westampton. His Mercedes-Benz E400 hit the back of the truck at 9:56 p.m., police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
