Man Stole $162, Chicken Caesar Wrap In Wawa Armed Robbery: Cops

When he was arrested, he said "it was the biggest mistake of my life." But he had robbed the same store 11 years earlier, police said.

When Michael J. Siriani walked into a Wawa in Springfield Township last summer, he grabbed a chicken Caesar wrap from the freezer and headed for the checkout counter.

Moments later, he left the store with $162 in cash after having pulled a gun on the clerk and demanding money, according to police. He also still had the wrap in tow.

Now Siriani, 59 of Mount Holly, is facing 20 years in New Jersey State Prison after admitting to the crime, Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina announced on Wednesday.

His planned wedding — which was to have taken place three weeks after the alleged robbery — is off, and Siriani calls the robbery “the biggest mistake of my life.”

“I wish I could just give back the $160,” Siriani told police when he was arrested a few days after the robbery, according to Coffina.

But it apparently wasn’t the first time Siriani made this mistake. His long criminal history includes the robbery of the same store back in 2006, Coffina said.

As a result, Siriani faced a much stiffer sentence had he gone to trial and been convicted. So he ended up pleading guilty to second-degree robbery in connection with the robbery, which took place just before 1 a.m. on Aug. 6, 2017.

Siriani will have to serve 17 years of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole. Sentencing is scheduled for July 19.
