Montessori Academy Hosting Special Event for Parents Next Month

Barbette Robillard will be the guest speaker.

Guest speaker Barbette Robillard will guide parents through a hands-on experience with the Montessori Academy of New Jersey materials and a discussion of the Montessori philosophical approach from toddler through elementary classes during a special presentation at the school next month.

“The Journey & Discovery: A Montessori Experience” begins on Friday evening, April 8, 7 p.m.-9 p.m., and continues on Saturday, April 9, 8:30 am-noon.

The Montessori Academy of New Jersey is located at 28 Conrow Road in Delran.

Robillard is an AMI trained primary guide with over 20 years of teaching experience.

She has a BA in Art Therapy and AMI Primary Diploma from the Washington Montessori Institute.

Her teaching career began at the Montessori Academy, and she became a new teacher and a mother in the same year. Her oldest son was a student in MANJ’s first Toddler Community.

Both of her sons progressed through the entire primary and elementary curriculum at MANJ. Robillard worked for 17 years at MANJ before her family moved to Bucks County, PA, where she co-founded Secret Garden Montessori School located in Frenchtown, NJ.

Robillard is a visual artist and enjoys sharing this skill as well as interests in gardening, sewing and cooking with her students.

She lives with her husband, Bob in Point Pleasant, PA. Her eldest son, Zachary graduated from Millersville University with a degree in Physics and her youngest son, Jacob attends Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida.
