Murder Charge For Man Involved In Burlington Co. Standoff: Official
Larry Brown was already facing other charges in connection with the standoff, according to authorities.

MOUNT HOLLY, NJ — New charges, including first-degree murder, were filed on Tuesday against Larry Brown, the man who barricaded himself inside a Beverly City home for several hours on June 14, according to authorities.
Larry Brown, 27, of Burlington Township, now also faces charges of third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, authorities said.
Brown killed 34-year-old Highland Park resident Cecilio Luciano with a baseball bat, then barricaded himself inside the home and forced a standoff with police that lasted several hours, according to authorities.

Brown had previously been charged with second-degree certain persons not to have weapons, second-degree kidnapping and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, according to authorities.
He had been sent to Burlington County Jail on those charges while the investigation into the Beverly incident continued, according to authorities.

Upon being served with the new charges, Brown was returned to the Burlington County Jail pending a detention hearing in Superior Court, authorities said.
A woman and four children who lived inside the house escaped unhurt during the standoff, authorities previously said. The standoff also led Beverly School District officials to cancel their classes for the day, authorities previously said.
