A New Jersey lawmaker who is facing DWI charges swore at police officers and called them names, using obscene language, during the traffic stop earlier this year, according to a video obtained by The Trentonian (see video below).
The Trentonian, which posted the video on YouTube, shows Republican Assemblywoman Maria Rodriguez-Gregg, of Evesham Township, getting angry with police officers who suspected that she had been smoking marijuana. She said she had been smoking cigars at an event in Moorestown.
"I want a warrant. I want a warrant. I'm not consenting to anything," Rodriguez-Gregg said during the crash investigation after her vehicle was rear-ended on Route 73 in Mount Laurel on April 28. The video was taped at 3 a.m., according to The Trentonian.

Rodriguez-Gregg demanded that she be able to speak to her lawyer and accused police of harassing her because she's a Latina woman.
"I have done nothing but support the police. I have been one of your number one supporters politically," she said at the 9 minute mark. "F-- assholes."

Rodriguez-Gregg, of Evesham Township announced earlier this year that she won’t seek re-election in November. She was running alongside Republican incumbent Joe Howarth in a five-person race for two open seats.
Former Burlington County Freeholder Joanne Schwartz and Mary Ann Merlino are running for the Democrats, and Ryan T. Calhoun is running an independent campaign.
Rodriguez-Gregg said she chose not to run so she could focus on “what’s most important in my life right now,” but didn’t mention recent DWI charges she faces, according to The Observer. She was arrested following an accident on April 28 when police said they smelled marijuana in her car. She maintains her innocence, and the case is ongoing.
The 8th District covers parts of Burlington, Atlantic and Camden counties. Her district office is in Medford.
