A New Jersey manhunt is underway for a man who assaulted and carjacked an 82-year-old woman, according to the State Police.

A New Jersey manhunt is underway for a man who assaulted and carjacked an 82-year-old woman, according to the State Police.

The assault and carjack occurred Saturday, June 11, at 9:30 p.m., in the parking lot of a supermarket in Hainesport, Burlington County, the State Police said.

The victim’s 48-year-old daughter left her mother in her car with the keys while she went into the store. During that time, the pictured suspect approached the silver 2015 Toyota Rav 4, opened the driver's side door, assaulted the 82-year-old woman and forced her out of the car before driving away, police said.

The suspect is described as a black man, 5 foot 8 inches, 170 pounds, long-braided hair and wearing a white Phillies baseball jersey, white pants, and red shoes.
