James C. Anderson Jr. touted the college's engineering program when he joined the board on Jan. 16.

An engineer from Medford has joined the Rowan College at Burlington County Board of Trustees. James C. Anderson Jr. was appointed to the board by former Gov. Chris Christie to serve on the volunteer board that governs New Jersey’s top-ranked and growing community college. He officially joined the board on Jan. 16, the college announced.

“Burlington County has a number of talented professionals who share their time and expertise to serve their community. Congratulations to Trustee Anderson on his appointment and dedication,” Burlington County Freeholder Linda Hughes, the college’s liaison and former college trustee, said. “Serving as a trustee is a rewarding experience that truly makes a difference in our community.”

Anderson has an extensive career in civil engineering and currently serves as director of Solid Waste Compliance and Development for Mercer Group International of New Jersey, according to the college. There, he focused on energy efficient and environmentally-sound waste management plans.
