NJ Corrections Officer Killed In Burlington County Crash: Cops
Chelsea Woods was one of two people who were killed in an accident in Springfield Township early Monday morning, police said.

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ — A New Jersey State Corrections Officer was one of two people who were killed in a two-car crash in Burlington County on Monday, according to New Jersey State Police.
Chelsea Woods, 26 of Browns Mills, was killed when her Ford F-350 was struck by a Ford F-150 at the intersection of Routes 68 and 537 in Springfield Township early Monday morning, police said.
The driver of the F-150, 53-year-old Rogaciano Zecua-Zamora of Wrightstown, was also killed in the accident, according to State Trooper Alejandro Goez.

Alicia Paez-Capulin, 45 of Wrightstown, was a passenger in the F-150. She sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital, Goez said.
“With great sadness, we share the passing of our sister in blue, Correctional Police Officer Chelsea Woods of New Jersey State Prison,” the New Jersey Department of Corrections said in a Facebook post. “We are grateful for her service and together with her friends and family, mourn the loss of a dedicated colleague.”

Woods was coming home from work in Trenton at the time of the accident, according to a social media post by the NJ PBA Local 105.
“With a heavy heart PBA 105 would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of Ofc. Chelsea Woods,” the PBA wrote in a Facebook post. “On 12/09/2019, while commuting home from NJSP Chelsea tragically lost her life in an automobile accident. Please keep Chelsea's family in your prayers.”
She was traveling south on 68 when she reached the intersection with 537, Goez said. The F-150 was heading east on 537 at the time of the collision. Woods was ejected from her car when it overturned and went off the road, police said. The F-150 went off the road and hit a tree. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, police said.
“Sadly we lost one of our own this morning in a motor vehicle accident,” William Sullivan wrote in an online fundraiser for Woods’ memorial fund. “Correctional Police Officer Chelsea Woods from NJSP. She leaves behind her husband who also is an OFC at NJSP and their two children.”
“Such a great loss, kind heart, loving soul may she rest in peace. Praying God grants this family healing,” wrote one person who contributed to the fundraiser. “My sincerest condolences.”
