A prison teacher had sex with an inmate more than 20 times and became pregnant twice during the relationship, authorities said.

A prison teacher had sex with an inmate more than 20 times and became pregnant twice during the relationship, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.
Chong-Hwa Chang, 42, was recently arrested and charged with one count of sexual assault after an investigation was completed, authorities said.
The Delran resident was a teacher at New Jersey State Prison in Trenton when she began the sexual relationship with an inmate. The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office searched Chang’s home and found a journal that detailed the relationship with the inmate, authorities said.

Officials also found sexually explicit photos of Chang, who admitted having sex with the inmate at least 20 times after the Jan. 29 arrest, authorities said.
She was charged under the state’s sexual assault statute because she had a supervisory role over the inmate. The inmate is not named because he is a victim of a sexual assault.

The Department of Corrections confirmed that it announced it’s intention to fire Chang on Feb. 8, and she’s no longer getting paid by the department, though she can appeal. She earned $72,793 in 2015, and she worked as a teacher for the department for nine years. Her bail is $50,000.
Her Linked in profile (see photo) says she attended Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey-New Brunswick, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and sociology in 1995.
