NY Man Sentenced For Meeting 'Girl' In Burlington County For Sex
The 'girl' in this case is actually an undercover federal agent, the U.S. Attorney says.
CAMDEN, NJ — A New York man was sentenced for attempting to entice a minor and traveling from New York to Burlington County to meet someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl for sex, according to a U.S. Attorney.
Eduardo Silva, 44, of Bronx, New York, received 24 years in jail on charges of one count of coercion and enticement of a minor and one count traveling with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor, the U.S. Attorney said. Silva had previously pleaded guilty to those charges, the U.S. Attorney continued. Silva also received lifetime supervised release, the U.S. Attorney said.
Several times in September 2020, Silva sent a series of explicit online communications and text messages to whom he thought was an underage girl, but was actually an undercover federal agent, according to the U.S. Attorney. Police arrested Silva after he traveled from Bronx to Bordentown for sex.
