Death Of District Fire Commissioner Mourned In Cinnaminson
Robert Steel was a "life member" of the Cinnaminson Fire Department, that department wrote on its Facebook page.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — A visitation service will be held Friday for Cinnaminson Fire District Commissioner Robert Steel, according to Bradley Funeral Home's website.
That service will be followed by an event at the Cinnaminson Fire Department that will give members of the community the opportunity to share memories of Steel, the funeral home's website continued.
Steel was a 40+ year volunteer member of the Cinnaminson Fire Department who, in addition to fire commissioner, had served as a battalion chief and a deputy chief, the Cinnaminson Fire Department and funeral homes wrote on their websites.

An exterior wall of the Cinnaminson Fire Department was draped in purple and black bunting when Patch drove by on Wednesday.
According to independence-bunting.com, the black ribbon signifies the mourning of a firefighter or police officer who has died, and the purple ribbon denotes the protection law enforcement and firefighters (and as one Patch reader told us, emergency medical technicians) offer citizens in their communities.
