Phone Scammers Impersonating Burlington Co. Law Enforcement
Robocalls have been stating that there's a warrant out for the recipient's arrest. This is a scam, officials said.
BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — A phone scam impersonating the Burlington County Sheriff's Office has been circulating, officials said.
During the robocalls, scammers claim that they have a warrant out for the recipient's arrest and falsely identify themselves as officers from the sheriff's office. The phone number might be "spoofed" to make it seem like the detective bureau is calling.
Warrant information is distributed through letters from the court — not via phone calls — the sheriff's office said.

"Sheriff James H. Kostoplis wants to remind everyone to NEVER give your personal information out to unidentified parties as they may be a phishing scheme to get your personal info and/or money," the agency said.
