St. Charles students play the part for one night.

members got a little younger Monday night as six eighth-grade students took on the officials' roles as part of youth in government day.

The students—part of the Beta Club—won a mock election at their school and were named township committee members and administrator. The day started with a tour of the municipal building led by Mayor Kathy Fitzpatrick.

The students led the regular October meeting of committee with script in hand.

Julia Donnelly, daughter of Burlington County Freeholder Joseph Donnelly, opened the meeting with the flag salute and each student gave their respective committee reports.

Acting Mayor and Director of Parks and Recreation was Alexandria Rucci; Caroline Casey served as Director of Economic Development; Angelina Carroll was the Director of Public Works; the Director of Public Safety was Haleigh Durkin; and Megan Katzmar served as Administrator.
