Police Investigate Early Morning Fatal Shooting In South Jersey

No arrests had been made as of early Friday afternoon.

A Camden man was fatally shot in the city early Friday morning, Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson announced.

Police found 21-year-old Dasheem Funches in the area of the 100 block of Pfieffer Street in Camden at about 12:17 a.m. while responding to reports of a man who had been shot. Funches had been shot several times.

He was taken to Cooper University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 1:39 a.m. No arrests had been made as of early Friday afternoon. The investigation is ongoing.
