Police Investigate Fatal Shooting In Burlington County

Two unidentified suspects are in custody.

Police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place in Burlington County Saturday night, Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi and Burlington City Police Chief Alan R. Snow said.

Eric Thomas II, 30, of Eastampton, was struck by gunfire near the intersection of East Broad and Library streets in Burlington City at about 10:40 p.m.

He was taken to Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County in Willingboro, where he was pronounced dead.

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the shooting, but they weren’t identified as of Sunday afternoon. Their identities will be released once charges have been filed, police said.

The gun believed to have been used in the shooting has also been recovered. An autopsy was to be conducted Sunday afternoon.
