Rabid Raccoon Found in Delran
No one is known to have tested positive for rabies from having contact with this particular animal, a press release said.

DELRAN, NJ — A raccoon that was captured in the Hunters Glen Apartments complex in Delran has tested positive for rabies, according to a Burlington County press release.
The health department does not know of anyone who was exposed to the rabid raccoon, the release said.
However, there are concerns that wild or stray animals may have been in contact with it, according to the press release. Therefore, the public is being asked to:

- Notify the Burlington County health department "immediately" if they or someone they know was scratched or bitten by a raccoon in the last 2 weeks.
- Ensure that their pets who frequently spend time unsupervised outdoors be administered a rabies vaccine booster if its last rabies vaccine was administered more than 3 months ago.
- Refrain from feeding wild or stray animals and avoid all other types of contact with these types of animals, especially bats, skunks, foxes, cats and raccoons.
