RCBC Executive Director Named to National Academic Advising Board

Rowan College at Burlington County Executive Director of Enrollment Management Dr. Karen Archambault has been elected to the Board of Directors for the NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising, the college announced this week.

Archambault will be responsible for providing leadership and establishing the vision, strategic plan and special incentives of the Association as a member of the NACADA Board of Directors, which establishes policy for the organization.

NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising promotes academic advising professional development of its membership to ensure the educational development of its students.

“NACADA has been a great source of professional development for me for more than a decade,” Archambault said. “I’m thrilled to be able to give back and support the membership in this role on the Board of Directors.”

It is a non-profit that has evolved from the National Conference on Academic Advising in 1977 to over 13,000 members from all 50 states and many other countries.

Members include faculty members, professional advisors, administrators, counselors, and other student affairs and academic personnel.

“It’s always great to see administrators go above and beyond their jobs and take on leadership roles in other academic organizations,” Rowan College at Burlington County President Paul Drayton said. “Karen’s work has been recognized by several national organizations, and we are glad to have her be a part of our team that is transforming Rowan College at Burlington County into the model of 21st century education.”

“Karen is leading the effort to improve student success at Rowan College at Burlington County and will now have the opportunity to share her skills on a national level,” said Mike Cioce, vice president of Enrollment Management and Student Success. “I am looking forward to see what new ideas she brings back to implement at Rowan College at Burlington County.”

Archambault holds a doctorate in educational leadership from Rowan University, a master’s in counseling from Trinity Washington University, a master’s in history from Old Dominion University and a bachelor’s in history from Salisbury University.

Her work has been recognized by several national organizations in 15 years of experience in higher education – particularly with admissions, financial aid and retention programs.
