Scooter Driver Hospitalized In Critical Condition After Crash In Burlington Co.: Police

An electric scooter and SUV collided during the early morning, authorities said.

BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A man was in critical condition after his electric scooter collided with an SUV in Burlington Township, authorities said.

Officers responded to the crash at about 5:15 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Sunset and Salem roads. The investigation revealed that an electric sit-down scooter impacted a Cadillac SUV, police said.

The scooter operator — a 30-year-old township resident — was unconscious but breathing, sustaining injuries to his head and face, according to law enforcement. Willingboro EMTs and medics brought him to Cooper University Hospital in critical but stable condition.

The Cadillac driver — a 70-year-old Willingboro man — remained on-scene and cooperated with the investigation. There are no pending charges at this time, police said.
