Second Person Dies Following Accident That Killed 2-Year-Old Burlington County Boy

Jairisa Galindo, 18, was pronounced dead Wednesday night.

A second person has died in connection with the accident that resulted in the death of a 2-year-old boy in Southampton, the Burlington County Times reports.

Jairisa Galindo, 18, was pronounced dead at Cooper University Hospital on Wednesday night, according to the report.

She pulling the wagon with the flow of traffic in the center of the eastbound lane of Buddtown Road at 8:30 p.m. when they were struck by a BMW sedan driven by Thomas Xenakis, Jr., 37, of Southampton.

Two-year-old Jyonsheil Martinez was pronounced dead that night after being taken to Virtua Hospital in Mount Holly.

The others who were struck were left in critical condition.

Galindo was pulling a wagon with Jyonshiel Martinez and 6-year-old Kahariel Martinez when they were hit. Mahya Martinez, 13, was with the group, but was not struck. She was walking off of the roadway to the right in the grass.

The accident remains under investigation.
