Shirtless Dirtbiker Arrested Trying To Escape Police In NJ: Authorities

RIVERSIDE, NJ — A 19-year-old man was arrested on Thursday after he tried to escape police twice while shirtless on a dirt bike that is illegal to ride on public roads, the Riverside Police Department said.

Jahvell T. Liverpool, of Edgewater Park, was charged with two counts of eluding police, two counts of obstructing the administration of law, two counts of illegally operating off-road vehicle on public roadway, and other traffic offenses.

At around 1 p.m., a Riverside officer noticed Liverpool riding the electric dirt bike along North Pavilion Avenue.

He was speeding and the bike was not registered.

After the officer activated his emergency lights and siren, Liverpool sped away.

At around 3 p.m., another Riverside officer saw him along Pavilion Avenue near Fairview Street. After emergency lights and a siren were again activated, Liverpool again sped away.

According to authorities, he also drove recklessly and did not stop at stop signs.

Local surveillance video was used to get a photo of Liverpool, identify him, and lead to a search at an apartment complex in Delran.

There, he was arrested and then taken to the Riverside Police station before he was moved to the Burlington County Correctional Facility.
