S.J. Man Charged in Clerk's Fatal Shooting
The man allegedly shot the clerk in the parking lot of a convenience store last month.

A Burlington man has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a Willingboro convenience store clerk, Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi and Willingboro Township Public Safety Director Gregory Rucker said Monday morning.
Eramus Canty, 31, was charged with one count of felony murder over the weekend in the fatal shooting that took place last month. He was arrested just after midnight Saturday morning in Asbury Park.
Information concerning Canty and his vehicle had been distributed to law enforcement officials after he was developed as a suspect by investigators. An Asbury Park police officer spotted Canty’s red Dodge Charger pulling into a convenience store on Memorial Drive and requested a back-up unit to assist with the arrest. Canty was taken into custody without incident.

His first appearance was scheduled for Monday afternoon, at which time bail would be set.
Canty allegedly shot store clerk Matthew Mwinsori, 42, of Willingboro, during a robbery on Nov. 25 at the Quick N Go convenience store on the 100 block of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Canty allegedly entered the store and demanded money. The two allegedly ended up fighting in the parking lot, where the alleged shooting took place.

Willingboro Township police were called to the store that night at approximately 8:20 p.m. on a report of shots being fired in the area.
Upon arrival they found Mwinsori in the street suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County in Willingboro, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.
